Well hello everyone (if there is in fact anyone still out there still). It has been about 18 months since my last post, and well a lot has changed. I have been getting the urge to post again recently, and finally decided to make the plunge and just do it!
So, what have you missed? Well, I am still in school. I will be starting my third year in my Bachelor of Arts with an English Major this fall, and I have been loving every minute of it. That is, aside from the fact that it takes over my life for eight months of the year and has resulted in my first wrinkles (or so I say). But in all seriousness, I really feel at home when I am in class and studying.
In other exciting news, we have moved! Only 10 days ago, D and I took an enormous risk and moved onto Vancouver Island. Victoria, to be exact, and we could not be more excited! Victoria is a big city compared to our previous home, and the sheer amount of possibilites it carries is almost overwhelming (hello, vegetarian friendly restaurants).

We moved for school. D is taking his Elementary Education certification, and I was offered a scholarship to UVic to finish my studies there. Our new home is a quaint little one bedroom basement suite that is a 10 minute walk to campus, and yet only a 10 minute drive to the heart of the city. We desperately needed a change, and Victoria is one of our all time favourite cities. To say the least, we are thrilled to be here.
As far as cooking and baking, I really have cut back on what I have been making. With such little time (and money, ahem), our meals have been basic and cheap. Not exactly exciting, but what can you do? I still do bake bread and make other baked goods from time to time, and went all out at Christmas again last year, but during the school year nothing really exciting was created. I am now off until the fall, so once I get used to our new kitchen, I hope to start up again!

Anyway, I will try and post more often and keep up with this blog as best I can. Until next time, here are some photos from our recent summer adventures!
